Effective as of July 2026
PPL is a place to bring characters to life, tell stories, and connect with a community that loves the same things you do. These guidelines exist to keep it that way.
PPL is built around creative storytelling — romance, fantasy, drama, dance, and the characters that make those stories come alive. The community is at its best when creators post original work, engage genuinely with each other's characters, and help newcomers find their footing. That's what we reward and amplify.
Original characters and storylines, including universes with multiple characters and cross-character arcs
Non-explicit romance and affection
Fantasy, supernatural, and dramatic themes
Fictional combat and conflict as part of a story
Dark or complex backstories handled thoughtfully
Collabs, remixes, and social chats
Watching, lurking, and chatting without ever posting — that's a real contribution too
In usernames, character names, and profile images
Slurs, sexual terms, drug references
Off-platform contact details (phone numbers, Discord handles, URLs)
Anything impersonating a real person or PPL staff
In videos and images
Nudity or sexual content
Gore, torture, or gratuitous violence
Content that sexualizes or endangers minors in any way
Depictions of real identifiable people without their consent
Copyrighted characters, music, or branded IP
In chat and character interactions
Sexual content involving minor-appearing characters
Harassment through a character persona — your account owns what your character says
Soliciting personal contact information or money
Instructions for real-world harm
In general
Every character on PPL is AI-generated. The chat interface will always make that clear. Characters stay in character — they won't break the fiction — but they're not a substitute for real people in your life. If a conversation ever touches on serious distress or self-harm, the character will respond with care and point toward real support.
Characters cannot play deceased relatives, unborn children, or real public figures. They won't confirm paranormal experiences as objectively real or play a prophet validating someone's beliefs.
If you're in crisis, call or text 988 if you're in the United States. If you're outside the U.S., please contact your local suicide prevention or crisis service. A list of international crisis resources is available at findahelpline.com.
PPL cannot license copyrighted music, characters, or brands. Generated content cannot depict real, identifiable people. Fan and parody content involving real people requires a clear label. When you remix another creator's work, the original creator keeps their rights — your remix is a new creation.
We prefer reducing reach over removing content, and education over punishment. Most enforcement means your content stops being recommended — it doesn't disappear. Removal is reserved for genuine harm.
First violations get an explanation. Repeated violations or serious harm — fraud, harassment, content endangering minors — result in account restrictions or a permanent ban. Banned accounts have their device and payment fingerprints blocked. Every enforcement action comes with a reason and an appeal option.
Gems are earned when real people engage with your content. Traded or coordinated engagement — including between your own accounts — doesn't pay out and doesn't count toward leaderboards. The leaderboard resets weekly and rewards the creators whose work genuinely resonates: collabs and loves count more than likes.
If you see something that violates these guidelines, report it in the app. If you believe an enforcement action against your account was wrong, you can appeal directly from your account standing page.
PPL is 13+. We have zero tolerance for content that exploits or endangers minors and report it to NCMEC where required by law.
